5 c Flour
2 1/2 c Butter; softened at room
-temperature
1 c Ground almonds
1 c Icing sugar
4 Egg yolks
6 tb Arak; (or Pastis or Ouzo)
1/2 ts Baking powder
Preheat oven to 350′ Cream softened butter well with sugar & yolks.
Add Arak & cream well again. Sift the flour & baking powder into the
mixture. Knead into a firm dough. Add nuts & knead again. Form into
3″ crescents & place on an UNgreased baking sheet. Bake 20-25
minutes. Sprinkle with icing sugar while still hot.
