2 c Flour; all purpose 1/3 c Buttermilk
1/2 ts Baking soda 1 c Raisins; golden
1/2 ts Salt 1/2 c Nuts; chopped
1/3 c Butter; room temperature 1/2 c Fruit; candied
1/2 c Sugar; light brown, packed 1/2 c Cherry halves; candied
1 Egg
1. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Beat butter and brown sugar
in bowl at medium speed until light and fluffy. Beat in egg. At
lowest speed, beat in buttermilk. Stir in raisins, nuts and candied
fruit. Chill 1 hour.
2. Grease baking sheets. Drop dough by tablespoons, 2 inches apart,
on sheets. Shape into rough balls. Flatten slightly. Dot with cherry
half. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 8 to 10 minutes or until
golden brown.
