2 1/3 c Sifted flour
1 pk (4-oz) instant chocolate
-pudding
1 ts Salt
1 ts Soda
1 1/2 c Brown sugar; firmly packed
2/3 c Butter
1 c Buttermilk or sour milk
3 Eggs
1 ts Vanilla
1 pk (6-oz) chocolate morsels
1/4 c Chopped walnuts (optional)
Sift flour with instant pudding, salt and soda. Add brown sugar, butter and
buttermilk. Beat 1-1/2 minutes with mixer on low speed. Add eggs and
vanilla. Beat 1-1/2 minutes. Turn into three greased and floured 8-inch
round pans. Use about 1-1/2 cups batter per pan. Sprinkle chocolate morsels
over layers. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool. Frost and decorate with
walnuts.
