4 1/2 c Flour 2 T Sugar
1 ea Package dry yeast 1 ea Egg
1 1/2 c Milk 5 c Cubed cheddar cheese
Heat milk and sugar to 115 degrees and add 2 cups flour and yeast.
Mix in egg and 2 cups of cheese. Beat for 3 minutes and stir in rest
of flour. Knead for 8-10 minutes, adding 1/2 to 1 cup of flour to
make a stiff dough. Slowly add the last 3 cups of cheese during the
last part of the kneading. Shape into a ball, place in a greased
bowl, turn over, cover with a towel and let rise for 1 1/2 hours.
Punch down and divide into 6 portions; let it rest for 10 minutes.
Roll each portion into a rope and braid 3 together to make 2 braided
loaves. Cover and let rise one hour. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and
bake on greased pan for 15-20 minutes.
