1 c Honey
2 tb Crisco
1 Whole egg
1 1/2 tb Orange peel
2 1/2 c Flour
2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Salt
3/4 c Orange juice
3/4 c Walnuts; chopped
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Cream together honey and crisco. Add egg and
peel. Add dry ingredients alternately with orange juice. Stir in nuts. Pour
into PAM sprayed 9×5 loaf pan. Bake 1 hour 10 minutes. Bread tastes better
after a few days to ‘age’.
