3/4 c Crisco
1 c Sugar
1 Egg
1/4 c Molasses
2 c Flour; sifted
3 ts Soda
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Ground ginger
1 ts Ground cloves
1 ts Salt
Natural sugar
Cream Crisco and sugar. Add egg and molasses. Stir in flour 1 cup at a
time, along with other dry ingredients. Chill 1/2 hour. Shape dough into
marble-sized balls, roll in natural sugar, and place 1 inch apart on baking
sheet. Bake at 350F for 8-10 minutes. Yields 3-4 dozen. May be halved or
doubled.
